General Meetings
ASDA holds general meetings every other Wednesday, featuring guest speakers such as dentists and dental health professionals who share their experiences, insights, and advice with our members. During each meeting, we also provide updates on upcoming events, opportunities, and important announcements. At the end of the school year, our final meeting is dedicated to officer elections, giving members the opportunity to vote for the next year’s officer team.

Dental Shadowing Program
Every semester, ASDA offers the opportunity to shadow dentists to learn more about how dentists operate. There is a minimum point requirement to be in the program so be active as soon as possible. Contact the Dental Shadowing Chair, Tristen Chiang, or email us for more information!

Volunteer Events
ASDA offers a multitude of volunteer opportunities as a way to connect to the community and help pre-dental students work towards their volunteering hours for dental/hygiene school. With a balanced selection of both dental and non-dental service events, members can explore different areas of service and choose opportunities that best align with their interests and goals.
Students are given the opportunity to listen to presentations done by the admissions staff and learn about the culture and school curriculum. We also tour around the school building to see their operatories and classrooms.

In the Spring, ASDA sponsors THREE dental school tours to each of the dental schools in Texas, which include:

Throughout the year, ASDA provides a variety of workshops designed to guide students through their pre-dental journey. These workshops offer valuable resources and support to help members prepare for important milestones, including RDA certification, the DAT, course planning, resume building, dental school applications, and mock interviews.

At ASDA, everyone is welcomed and valued as part of our family. By joining ASDA, you become part of a supportive community where you can meet new people, build friendships, and create lasting memories. Throughout the year, we host monthly socials featuring games, food, and fun, including pre-health bowling, pizza nights, UTSD student meetups, ASDA Family socials, and much more. At the end of every school year, ASDA celebrates the accomplishments and memories made throughout the year with our annual banquet! This professional yet enjoyable event brings members together for an evening of great food, entertainment, and appreciation. It is a special occasion where friendships are celebrated, milestones are recognized, and unforgettable memories are created.
